The Neighborhood Longhorn Program (NLP) was started in 1991 by Texas Athletics as a way to introduce children to the college environment. NPL encourages students to put their lives on an educational track by providing tutoring, incentives, scholarships and campus visits.

Students in grades 2-8 may participate, and students who leave Langford can still participate by contacting Mrs. Meza.

NLP students who meet or surpass all the requirements for the entire school year and have excellent attendance (no more than 6 absences all year) will be eligible to earn a $100.00 scholarship award.

All scholarship funds earned through the program will be held in an account set-up specifically for NLP scholarship winners at the University of Texas at Austin. When the Neighborhood Longhorns Program participant graduates from high school and attends a college, trade, technical school or university, they can receive their funds directly from the Neighborhood Longhorn Program. If the student attends The University of Texas at Austin, earned funds will be matched.

If you would like for your child to participate in the NLP program, please contact Mrs. Meza, NLP Langford Coordinator at 512-841-8525.
