The school day begins promptly at 7:40 am and ends at 3:10 pm.
Students who ride the bus to school or arrive at school between 7:15 am and 7:30 am must go to the cafeteria until the bell rings at 7:30 am.
Children are considered tardy if they are not inside of their classrooms at 7:40 am.
Please also note that all children must be picked up no later than 3:20 pm, as we do not have staff available to supervise children after school. If you have not picked up your child by 3:20 pm, your child will wait for you in the front office. Please be prepared to sign out your child and show your ID to the supervising staff.
If you come inside the building to see a teacher near dismissal time, please do not park in a drop off/pick up zone, as you will block buses and carpool traffic.
Your cooperation in this regard is greatly appreciated!
Elementary school children need the security of knowing exactly what to do when the school day is over and should be reminded regularly as to how they will go home. If your child’s afternoon plans change, please contact your child’s teacher directly at the number listed in our campus directory. Keep in mind that teachers may not be able to check phone messages, if you call near the end of the day, be sure your child knows to ask any teacher or to go to the office in case he/she misses a bus or carpool ride or needs help in any way.
Attendance Policy
Please make an effort to get your child to school on time each day. The tardy bell rings at 7:40 am, though students are encouraged to arrive earlier to ensure being on time. If your child arrives to school after 7:40 am, he/she should be signed in at the office. Tardiness has an impact on every child in the classroom. When instruction is delayed or interrupted, learning time is lost. In addition, being on time is an important life skill that we hope to teach every Langford student. Being on time demonstrates knowledge of our school guideline to "be respectful.” If your child has an excused absence, please send a note to the school office with your child's first and last name, as well as their teacher's name at the top.
